A presentation of the project "Travel book. Crimea is Ukraine"
On Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Kyiv, in the shopping and entertainment center Gulliver, the project "Travel Book. Crimea is Ukraine." As part of the project, an illustrative exhibition "Alphabet of Crimea" is planned for children and adults, which will be presented in two languages - Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar, where each letter of the alphabet will tell about the cultural diversity of the peninsula and its indigenous peoples. The exhibition will be open for the next two weeks.
"The goal of our project is to highlight, preserve and develop the unique cultural heritage of Crimea. We aim to draw more attention to the temporarily occupied peninsula, as well as the history and culture of the indigenous peoples of Crimea. To remind everyone that "Crimea is Ukraine!" This project is especially important for children who were born after the occupation of the peninsula," said the author of the project "Travel Book. Crimea is Ukraine" Iryna Taranenko.
As part of the presentation, there will be a discussion panel on understanding the culture of the indigenous peoples of Crimea. The speakers at the discussion will be representatives of the Crimean Tatar community, public figures and activists, in particular the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov, the manager of Crimean Tatar identity projects Mavilye Khalil, the cultural manager of the "Travel Book" project and educator Dara Duzhak, the director of information policy and strategic communications of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" Sabina Ablyaeva, producer of 1+1 media and founder of the "Real Story" project Akim Galimov and social activist Leviza Dzhelyalova.
The project is created by the authors of the all-Ukrainian project "Travel Book" with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Fund. Ukrzaliznytsia and Novikova Agency acted as partners. The general information partner is Espresso.
The event will take place on October 17, at 4:00 p.m. in the atrium of the "Gulliver" shopping center (1st floor, Sportivna ploshcha, 1a, Kyiv).
