Стелла Захарова — украинская гимнастка, олимпийская чемпионка в составе сборной СССР по спортивной гимнастике. Олимпийское золото она выиграла в 1980 году в командном зачете. Первая победа ждала Стеллу Захарову на Всесоюзной спартакиаде школьников в 1976 году. В том же году она заняла второе место на молодежном чемпионате СССР. Самым успешным годом для Захаровой стал 1979, в течение которого она выиграла личное первенство на Кубке Америки, турнире на приз газеты «Moscow News» и на Кубке мира. В 1980 году Захарова выигрывает золото с командой на московской Олимпиаде и приобретает второй титул абсолютной чемпионки на кубке мира. Оказалось, что это пик ее карьеры, поскольку, начиная с 1981 года, ее выступления стали менее успешными. После завершения спортивной карьеры Стелла Захарова вышла замуж за футболиста команды «Динамо» Киев Виктора Хлуса. У супругов родились сын и дочь. В Украине проводится ежегодный «Кубок Стеллы Захаровой», названный в ее честь. В 2016 году стала лауреатом Всеукраинской премии «Женщина III тысячелетия» в номинации «Рейтинг». Сегодня Стелла Захарова является президентом в международный благотворительный фонд «Спорт и дети»
